FUNDED RESEARCH PROJECTS

The Centre is a new establishment, but the contribution to community health has been a tale of decades for us. Community health is intrinsic to our existence, and our interventions have been generously, and regularly supported by like-minded ones, who have the resources, counting on the expertise and commitment with which we have thrived.

i) Charutar Arogya Mandal (CAM) [currently the sponsoring body of Bhaikaka University] has been implementing the Shree Krishna Hospital Program for Advancement of Rural and Social Health (SPARSH) as a community-based primary healthcare NCD model since the year 2015-16. The program is successful in ensuring control of hypertension and diabetes through treatment adherence among NCD patients and saving their out-of-pocket expenditures.

ii) Innovation Learning Centre (ILC)– This project is funded and supported by National Health Resources Centre (NHSRC), New Delhi. The project aims to handhold the government activities under the implementation of Ayushman Bharat – Health Wellness Centres (HWCs) in Dahod block, Dahod- an aspirational District of Gujarat, India.

iii) Women Empowerment-Cancer Awareness Nexus (WE-CAN) - This project aims to reduce cervical cancer among low-income women in rural and urban neighbourhoods across eight (n=8) states in India. To reduce barriers of participation related to low literacy, we will use art-based strategies to raise awareness and knowledge if HPV and cervical cancer. WE-CAN will provide women-centered and family/community engaging story-based sexual health education and offer HPV self-sampling as a screening test for cervical cancer.
