18th Foundation day of Cancer Centre and 118th Birth Anniversary of Founder Chairman celebrated

The Manibhai Shivabhai Cancer Centre of Shree Krishna Hospital Karamsad, the teaching institute of Bhaikaka University celebrated the 18th foundation day of the cancer centre on 27th August 2022. This is also the 118 birth anniversary of Dr HM Patel, the founder of the institute.

 

On this special day the President, BU Shri Atulbhai Patel, Hon. Secretary of CAM Shri Jagrut Bhatt, Provost, BU, Dr Utpala Kharod, Registrar Dr Harish Desai, Medical Superintendent, Shree Krishna Hospital, Dr Jitesh Desai, Dean, PSMC Dr Himanshu Pandya, Faculties, Doctors, Nurses, and employees homage with flowers on the samadhi.

 

The Annual Program “New Hopes, New Dreams” aims to raise cancer awareness and promote early detection and timely treatment. Radiation Oncologist Dr Rushi Panchal, Dr Inderpreet Kaur, Dr Amrita Tripathi, Dr Nirav Asarvala, and Dr Priyanka Srivastava from Medical Oncology Dr Raghunanadan from the Surgical Oncology, Dr Riddhi Trivedi from Head and Neck Oncology, Hematoncologist Dr Suraj Goenka and Gynec Oncologist Dr Vishal Sheth lighted the lamp on this occasion. On this special day, patients fighting and undergoing cancer treatment were invited. These patients encouraged other patients by describing their heartbreaking experiences and their treatment journey.

 

Swamiji Narayandasji expressed his story of cancer treatment and said that self-confidence, positivity, and faith in God help in defeating cancer. Only modern medicine works once cancer is diagnosed. He added that the founder chairman of this institute contributed to education and health.

 

Other cancer survivors expressed their treatment experience and gratitude to doctors. They experienced positivity in the employees of the centre. The centre is a boon for cancer patients and it provides treatment to a patient at a concessional rate.

 

Dr Rushi Panchal said that the cancer centre was established in the year 2004 with generous donations from Manibhai Shivabhai Patel and TataTrust. Thereafter bone marrow transplant centres and palliative care services were started from time to time. Medical oncology, radiation therapy, onco surgery, diagnostic services, physiotherapy, and plastic surgery are also available at the centre. Talking about modern cancer devices, linear accelerator machines, and brachytherapy machine is also available. So far more than 30,000 cancer patients have been treated at our centre.

 

President Mr. Atulbhai Patel talked about the noble contribution of our founding chairman Dr HM Patel and his daughter Dr Amrita Patel. Also, he said this cancer centre is dedicated to providing the best treatment to patients at an affordable rate and we shall continue to strive to modernize the centre.
