8th Healthy Heart Walkathon Organized to Raise Awareness

On October 8th, Tuesday, Bhanubhai Madhuben Patel Cardiac Centre of Shree Krishna Hospital, Bhaikaka University Karamsad, organized a walkathon to raise awareness about heart disease and promote a healthy lifestyle. This event also celebrated the 16th anniversary of the Cardiac Centre, which has successfully treated and cured hundreds of patients over the years.
 
More than 2,000 people from various walks of life participated in the event. Participants included representatives from Elecon, National Dairy Development Board, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), Kaira District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Limited (Amul Dairy), Anupam Mission, Innerwheel Club Anand, Vallabh Udyog Nagar Industrial Association, and many others. Walkers carrying placards with messages about heart health and disease prevention received an enthusiastic response. The walkathon commenced at 7 am from H.M. Patel Statue, near Nalini Arvind and T.V. Patel Arts College ,Vallabh Vidya Nagar, and concluded at Town Hall Anand.
 
The event was flagged off by Shri Jagrut Bhatt, Member, Charutar Arogya Mandal; Shri Bhikhubhai Patel, Chairman ,CVM; and Shri Jayan Mehta, MD of Amul. Notable dignitaries in attendance included Shri Amit Patel, Hon. Secretary ,Charutar Arogya Mandal; Dr. Abhay Dharmsi, Provost ,Bhaikaka University; Dr. Jyoti Tiwari, Registrar; Dr. Himanshu Pandya , Dean Pramukhswami Medical College ,Dr. Jitesh Desai, Medical Superintendent; Dr. Vikram Naidu, Chief Operating Officer, Shree Krishna Hospital; along with doctors from the Cardiac Centre, staff, and NSS volunteers.
 
Shri Jagrut Bhatt expressed gratitude to the companies that supported the Charutar Arogya Mandal for this event, including Elecon Group of Companies, Vidya Wires Pvt. Ltd., IDMC Limited, Ravikiran Ceramics Pvt. Ltd., Cipriani-Harrison Valves Private Limited, Design Consortium, and GCMMF.
 
A special health check-up package at a concessional rate of Rs. 2,500 will be available from October 8th to November 8th. This package includes ECG, ECHO, lipid profile, fasting blood sugar, CBC, and serum creatinine, along with consultations by a cardiologist and dietitian. At the conclusion of the event, a discussion on heart disease prevention and treatment was held with professionals from the Bhanubhai Madhuben Patel Cardiac Centre, including senior cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Manish Tiwari and cardiologist Dr. Kushal Pujara.
