Shri Prayasvin B. Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of Elecon Engineering Company Limited, inaugurated an advanced cath lab with high-tech echo machines at the Bhanubhai and Madhuben Patel Cardiac Center of Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad the teaching hospital of Bhaikaka University, on February 20, 2023, to enhance cardio-vascular care in Gujarat.
On this occasion Shri Atul Patel (Chairman, Charutar Arogya Mandal), Shri Jagrut Bhatt (Hon. Secretary, Charutar Arogya Mandal), Dr Utpala Kharod (Provost, Bhaikaka University), Dr Himanshu Pandya (Dean, Pramukhswami Medical College), Dr R Harihara (Principal, KM Patel Institute of Physiotherapy), Dr Shirish H Srivastava (Head, General Surgery), Dr Bhalendu S Vaishnav (Head, General Medicine), Shri Amit Patel (Member, Board of Management), Shri Mafatbhai Patel (Trustee), doctors and staff were present.
The new cath lab features cutting-edge technology, including 3D angiography, in-house physiological assessment of blockages by iFR, and anatomical 3D visualization of arteries by intravascular ultrasound. It will be useful in removing blockages more accurately, and the patient will get a speedy recovery. It also empowers the centre to conduct radiological, neurological, and vascular interventions.
Since 2008, Bhanubhai & Madhuben Patel Cardiac Center has treated thousands of people. The centre dealt with critical pediatric congenital cardiac issues as well as critical adult cardiology treatments. The centre has a dedicated and experienced cardiac team, including interventional cardiologists, a cardio-thoracic surgeon, a paediatric interventional cardiologist, a paediatric cardio-thoracic surgeon, a cardiac anesthesiologist, and a paediatric cardiac intensivist.
Speaking on this occasion Shri Prayasvinbhai said that the centre was established to provide the best treatment at a reasonable rate to all segments of society. We will continue to provide generous support for the modernization of the centre. He encouraged the staff to spread positivity and work hard to fulfil the aim of the organization.
Speaking on the launch, Dr Kushal Pujara, Interventional Cardiologist said “the necessity for emergency cardiac treatment is on the rise, due to the complexity of patient profiles and changing disease patterns. Thus, we need to be technologically equipped to treat patients more efficiently and save lives. Our state-of-the-art Cath Lab is equipped with unique advanced tools that will facilitate fast and accurate interventions in structural heart diseases. Thus, it provides an advantage for surgeons to offer advanced cardiac interventions in minimal time with greater precision and better clinical outcomes.”
He added “ the Cath Lab will also provide patients with enhanced care, accurate interventions, effective treatment alternatives and minimal radiation exposure. The Bhanubhai & Madhuben Patel Cardiac Centre has a complete cardiac team comprising of Interventional Cardiologist, InterventionalCardio -thoracic surgeon, Pediatric InterventionalCardiologist, Pediatric Interventional Cardio-thoracic surgeon, Cardiac Anesthesiologist, and Cardiac Intensivist”.
