A simulator-based fetal echocardiography workshop at Bhaikaka University - the first of its kind in Gujarat
With the onset of a state-of-the-art Simulation Centre at Bhaikaka University, a paradigm shift is visible in the realm of healthcare academics. A two-day Basic Fetal echocardiography Course was organized on 12th and 13th October 2024 which focused on giving hands-on training to practitioners for conducting fetal echocardiography.
The hands-on session was led by Dr.Nupur Shah - the fetal medicine expert attached with Shree Krishna Hospital, Bhaikaka University. The two day course exposed the participants to hands-on-simulator experience on how to approach and evaluate normal and abnormal fetal hearts, based on clinically relevant case scenarios.
The venue of the workshop elevated the learning experience to the next level with the availability of multiple simulators and the high-fidelity mannequin simulator. The course was attended by practicing doctors in the field from and outside Gujarat.
The event was organised with enthusiastic coordination and dedication from multiple teams, including the Department of Radiodiagnosis, Fetal Medicine, Obs & Gynec, and Skill Lab.
The Bhaikaka University offers a dedicated Diploma in Fetal Medicine and a Certificate course, while Shree Krishna Hospital has a team of Fetal Medicine experts offering regular services to the patients, by detecting fetal anomalies, and genetic syndromes, and monitoring fetal growth. The University plans to conduct similar, interesting, and skill-enhancing programs in Imaging in the future.
