Bhaikaka University celebrates World ORS Week

The Pediatric Department of Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad, a teaching hospital of Bhaikaka University celebrated world ORS Week from 25th - 31st July 2022 under the leadership of Dr. Krutika Tandon.

The theme of this year was “Jodi No.1 ORS and Zinc". On the first day Dr. Rajesh Pankhaniya, Assistant Professor, Pediatric Dept conducted sessions on the importance of ORS and Zinc in the management of diarrhea and demonstrated how to prepare ORS.

On the second-day Nursing students presented a skit at Mother and Child OPD foyer and sensitized the parents about the importance and symptoms that indicate the need to approach a health worker. They urged parents to buy ORS having WHO formulation and not to buy energy drinks commonly available in the market.

The post-graduate students of the Pediatric Dept, Nursing students, and faculties prepared posters and displayed them at the Mother and Child OPD. During the part of the celebration, also a quiz competition was conducted and Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of the Pediatric dept participated.

The 35th IAP UG Quiz was also conducted and the winners were Saumya and Rachit and the runner-ups were Ayushi and Anshita.
