On August 20, 2024, Bhaikaka University, in collaboration with its NSS Unit, hosted a crucial panel discussion titled "Anti-Ragging – A Double-Edged Sword" as part of the UGC's Anti-Ragging Week initiative. The event aimed to address student concerns about ragging, anti-ragging policies, and explore measures for a safer campus environment.
The panel featured distinguished guest Dr. Himanshu Pandya, Dean Pramukh Swami Medical College and included five notable panelists: Dr. Dinesh Bhanderi, Professor and Head Community Medicine Department; Dr. Uday Shankar, Professor Community Medicine Department; Dr. Anusha Prabhakaran, Professor and Head Psychiatry Department; Ms. Shany Thomas, Professor Institute of Nursing; and Dr. Shrusti Shukla, Student Representative Anti-Ragging Committee. The session was led by Satish Kumar Jha, Assistant Professor CAM Institute of Allied Health Sciences and Technology.
The discussion covered the impact of ragging, reporting mechanisms, and safety measures. Panelists stressed the importance of awareness and a proactive approach to preventing ragging. Students from the CAM Institute of Allied Health Science & Technology & Smt. L. P. Patel Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology participated actively, engaging with the session and gaining valuable insights into the university's commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
