Bhaikaka University Hosts Renowned Psychiatrist Prof. Bernhard Baune.
On January 5, 2025, the Department of Psychiatry, Bhaikaka University had the privilege of hosting the esteemed Prof. Bernhard Baune, Director of the University Hospital of Münster's Department of Mental Health in Germany.
Prof. Baune delivered an insightful guest lecture on "Personalized Psychiatry," drawing on his extensive expertise in neurobiology, treatment responses, and the creation of individualized care strategies for mental health disorders. Known for his pioneering research in mood disorders, cognitive dysfunction, and neuropsychiatry, Prof. Baune has made significant contributions to fields such as personalized psychiatry, molecular psychiatry, and psycho-neuro-immunology.
His lecture offered invaluable perspectives to both faculty and students at Bhaikaka University, underscoring the importance of tailoring treatment plans to improve patient outcomes in mental health care.
The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Abhay Dharamsi, Provost, and Dr. Jyoti Tiwari, Registrar of Bhaikaka University, Dr. Himanshu Pandya, Dean, and Dr. Somshekhar Nimbalkar, Associate Dean of Research at Pramukh Swami Medical College.
The session was chaired by Dr. Sandip Shah, Head of the Department of Psychiatry at GMERS Gotri, Vadodara, who facilitated engaging discussions among the participants.
