Bhaikaka University observes Patient Safety Week 2021

Patient Safety Awareness Week is an annual recognition event intended to encourage everyone to learn more about healthcare safety. It serves as a dedicated time and platform for growing awareness about patient safety and recognizing the work already being done. This year the theme is “Safe maternal and newborn care”.

 

Bhaikaka University, Karamsad, and Shree Krishna Hospital,(a teaching hospital) celebrated Patient Safety Week on 17th Sept. Dr. Monica Gupta, Assistant Dean, Clinical Excellence and Accreditation gave an introduction to the Program. Dr. Himanshu Pandya, Dean. PSMC gave the welcome address.

 

Dr. Utpala Kharod, Provost, Bhaikaka University said that “we have to advocate the adoption of best practices at the point of care to prevent avoidable risks and harm to all women and newborns during childbirth. Quality care by a skilled professional can avoid maternal and newborn death”.

 

The guest of honor at the function was Dr. Alok Kulshrestha. Government Officer On this occasion the eminent faculties addressed the theme i.e, Dr. Smruti Vaishnav, Department of Obstetrics and gynecology on Safe Motherhood, Dr. Dipen Patel, Department of Neonatology, on Safe New-born Care, Dr. Bharat Gajjar, Department of Pharmacology, Pharmacovigilance on Safe Maternal Care, Ms. Kuldeep Judge, Chief Nursing Officer on Role of Nursing in Safe Motherhood and New-born Care.

 

Expert talk on Safe Delivery practices and on Safe Newborn care provided by Dr. Shilpa Sapre, Department of Obstetrics and gynecology, and Dr. Hetal Budh, Department of Neonatology.
