Bhaikaka University Unveils Advanced Simulation Centre, Elevating Medical Education Standards

The Advanced Simulation Centre and Clinical Skills Lab at Bhaikaka University was inaugurated on 8th October 2024, a pivotal step in enhancing medical and paramedical education. The centre was inaugurated by Shri Umesh Balani, Director of Rotomag Motors & Controls Pvt. Ltd and Dr. Himanshu Pandya, Dean, Pramukhswami Medical College. The event was attended by notable dignitaries including Shri Atul Patel, President, Bhaikaka University, Dr. Abhay Dharmsi, Provost,Bhaikaka University ,Shri Amit Patel, Hon Secretary, Dr. Jyoti Tiwari, Registrar, Dr. Jitesh Desai, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Vikram Naidu, Chief Operating Officer, Shree Krishna Hospital, Head of Constituent Institutions of University, and faculty members.
 
The centre was built with the generous donations of Shri Umesh Balani, Director, Rotomag Motors & Controls Pvt. Ltd., Dr. Hiren Jagdishchandra Pandya, former Professor, South Gujarat University, and Dr. Himanshu Pandya, Dean, Pramukhswami Medical College, his family and others.
 
Dr. Hemlata Kamat, Professor in charge of the Simulation Centre, highlighted on the facilities available and commitment to comprehensive training. The Centre will provide basic task trainer mannequins for both undergraduate and postgraduate students and plans to conduct workshops in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Life Support (PALS), Child, Infant, and Neonatal Resuscitation, and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). She added that beyond student training, the Simulation Centre is poised to enhance the quality of healthcare professionals through faculty training in new techniques and patient care modalities, ensuring that practitioners are proficient before applying their skills in real-world settings.
 
Dr. Himanshu Pandya elaborated on the state-of-the-art features of the Simulation Centre, which is equipped with advanced mannequins that offer a wide range of training scenarios across various medical specialties. “Students will have the opportunity to develop essential clinical skills in a safe environment, focusing on patient assessment, surgery, gynecology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and emergency procedures,” he noted.
 
Shri Umeshbhai highlighted that Dr. H. M. Patel, the founder of Charutar Arogya Mandal, established this institution through the generous donations from the community of the Charotar region. His vision was to ensure quality healthcare for the local population. The subsidized healthcare facility was particularly beneficial for industrial workers, playing a crucial role in enhancing the region's economic and industrial growth by providing quality care to its community.
 
Shri Atul Patel in his presidential remarks emphasized on the importance of the new facility, stating, "The launch of the Advanced Simulation Centre is a milestone in medical education. The Centre will support the assessment of clinical skills for undergraduates and postgraduates, a requirement set forth by the National Medical Council. By fostering continuous education and skill development, the Advanced Simulation Centre aims to significantly contribute to the professional growth of doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff, ultimately benefiting the broader healthcare landscape". Dr. Jyoti Tiwari, Registrar Bhaikaka University proposed vote of thanks.
