Bhaikaka University's Nursing Schools Host Inspiring Candle Lighting & Oath Taking Ceremony

The Candle Lighting & Oath Taking Ceremony took place at the Bhikhabhai Auditorium on June 11th, 2024. Organized by the Institute of Nursing Sciences and Shri G.H. Patel School of Nursing, esteemed constituents of Bhaikaka University, the event marked a profound milestone for the 44th batch of Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM) and the 10th batch of B.Sc. Nursing students.

 

The ceremony commenced with solemn prayers, followed by the lighting of lamps in honor of Florence Nightingale, the pioneer of modern nursing. First-year students then took their oath, pledging to uphold the values of compassion, integrity, and dedication that define their noble profession.

 

Distinguished guests included Prof. Mahesh Pathak, retired Head of the Department of Economics, Sardar Patel University, and Mrs. Harshita Pathak, who attended as Chief Guests. Mrs. Jigisha Prajapati, Vertical Head of Nursing ,Shree Krishna Hospital, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Dr. Jyoti Tiwari, Registrar of Bhaikaka University, and Prof. Shailesh Panchal, Principal of the Institute of Nursing Sciences & G.H. Patel School of Nursing, also attended. Faculty members, senior students, and parents joined to witness and support the event.

 

Dr. Jyoti Tiwari and Prof. Shailesh Panchal congratulated the students, acknowledging their significant role in healthcare and encouraging them to pursue excellence in their careers. Prof. Mahesh Pathak praised the dedication and resilience of nurses globally, emphasizing their essential role in alleviating suffering and providing care.

 

Mrs. Jigisha Prajapati delivered an inspiring speech, recognizing the holistic care provided by nurses and their invaluable contributions during challenging times, such as the recent global health crisis.
