CME on Cross talk between Rheumatology and Ophthalmology organized at BU

The Departments of Medicine and Ophthalmology of Bhaikaka University, Karamsad, and the Rheumatology Association of Gujarat jointly organized a CME on 17th September 2022. The subject of the CME was "Cross talk between Rheumatology and Ophthalmology".

Dr. Himanshu Pandya, Dean, PSMC, Karamsad, Dr. Bhalendu Vaishnav, Head, Department of Medicine, PSMC, Karamsad, Dr. Samir Bhavsar, Head, Department of Ophthalmology, PSMC, Karamsad, and Dr. Sapan Pandya, Consultant Rheumatologist, Ahmedabad inaugurated the CME with lamp lighting.

There were four guest lectures. Dr. Himanshu Pathak Consultant Rheumatologist, SKH, Karamsad talked on Rheumatological Diseases involving eyes: an overview. Dr. Meeta Mungle Consultant Ophthalmologist, Vadodara shared her views on the Ophthalmologic manifestations of Rheumatological Diseases.

Dr. Nishant Desai Consultant Rheumatologist, Surat, and Dr. Sapan Pandya, Consultant Rheumatologist, Ahmedabad provided a brief on Immunosuppression for Autoimmune Ophthalmologic Diseases and the Art of identifying patterns in the diagnosis of Rheumatological Diseases respectively. The lectures were well received by a large number of participants.

The Case Presentations were done by Dr. Mehul Rathod, PG Student, Department of Medicine, and Dr. Dhwani Mehta, Department of Ophthalmology, Pramukhswami Medical College.

Later on, a quiz program was held for Post-graduate students of the Departments of Medicine and Ophthalmology.
