Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister, inaugurated the Amrita Patel Centre for Public Health at BU

Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, the Government of India inaugurated the Amrita Patel Centre for Public Health in the presence of Shri Rushikesh Patel, Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Gujarat on 2nd September 2023 at 10.30 am at Bhaikaka University, Karamsad-Anand, Gujarat  

The function was graced by dignitaries Shri Mitesh Patel, (MP-Anand), Dr. Ramanbhai Solanki ( Nyab Mukhya Dandashri , Gujarat State), Shri Yogesh Patel( MLA-Anand) , Shri Rajesh Patel(President -BJP Anand) , Shri Atul Patel( President- Bhaikaka University) , Shri Jagrut Bhatt( Hon secretary -Charutar Arogya Mandal) , Dr. Amrita Patel( Ex- Chairman , Charutar Arogya Mandal) , Dr. Utpala Kharod ( Provost-Bhaikaka university), university staff , and guests.

Amrita Patel Centre for Public Health will be a vibrant learning hub and capacity-buildinginstitution for public health professionals of all cadres, paying a befitting tribute to Dr. Amrita Patel and her profound vision. The Centre aims to prepare skilled public health experts for communities, NGOs,healthcare systems and global health initiatives and provide research facilities to students worldwide.

Dr. Amrita Patel, a visionary leader and our former Chairperson, has significantly contributed to the healthcare needs of the rural poor. It has always been her endeavor to establish an institution that creates healthcare professionals to serve the underprivileged. She has been honored with prestigious awards, such as Padmabhushan, Dr. Norman Borlaug Award, and International Person of the Year, for her selfless service.

Dr. Mansukhbhai stated that Amrita Patel's contributions span beyond healthcare and education. She has also made a remarkable impact in Sardar Patel Education Institute, Delhi . Her multifaceted contributions are truly commendable. He added that the founder of Charutar Arogya Mandal, late Dr. H.M. Patel's significant contribution lies in the formation of farmer committees, a crucial step in empowering and supporting our farmers community.

"With the launch of the Amrita Patel Centre for Public Health, Bhaikaka University has aligned itself with the government's agenda of promoting social equality through enhanced public health initiatives," stated Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya

"Our honorable PM has launched the 'One Nation, One Health System by 2030' Policy, and the Amrita Patel Centre for Public Health will play a pivotal role in training grassroots health workers. A remarkable step towards a healthier future!" said Shri Rushikesh Patel.

Shri Atul Patel explained that around 51 years ago, the founder of Charutar Arogya Mandal, the late Dr HM Patel, dreamt of an institution that would treat patients equally, ethically, and humanely, regardless of their financial status. He formed Charuar Arogya Mandal, a parent organization of Bhaikaka University to streamline healthcare services in rural India. Her daughter Dr. Amrita Patel expanded the services at Mandal and provided national recognition.
