The Inter Physio College League Tournament kicked off today at Bhaikaka University, under the auspices of KM Patel Institute of Physiotherapy College, marking the commencement of three days filled with spirited sportsmanship and camaraderie. Organized by KM Patel Institute of Physiotherapy, the tournament, now in its eighth year, is slated to run from February 22nd to February 24th, 2024. Students from seven colleges across Anand and Kheda districts will engage in a variety of sporting events, including cricket, volleyball, the 100-meter run, yoga, sports quizzes, table tennis, and carrom.
The tournament commenced with an inauguration ceremony graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Gurusevak Sinsh, Retired Director of Sports at SP University. Shri Gurusevak Sinsh, as the Chief Guest, ignited the torch, symbolizing the commencement of the tournament. Among the dignitaries present were Dr. Jyoti Tiwari (Registrar, Bhaikaka University), Dr. Harihara Prakash (Principal, KM Patel Institute of Physiotherapy), Mr. Shailesh Panchal (Principal, Institute of Nursing Sciences), Dr. Sonal Chitroda (Principal, CAM Institute of Allied Health Sciences and Technology), and Dr. Jitesh Desai (Medical Superintendent, Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad).
Addressing the gathering, Shri Gurusevak Singh underscored the pivotal role of physiotherapists in ensuring sports fitness and extended his best wishes to the participating students. Dr. Harihara Prakash emphasized the importance of fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and interpersonal skills among students to alleviate academic stress, lauding the tournament as a platform for achieving this objective. He noted that the tournament, in its eighth edition, has become a cherished tradition, with KM Patel Institute of Physiotherapy College hosting it for the third consecutive time.
After three days of intense competition, KM Patel Institute of Physiotherapy College emerged triumphant, securing the Champion Trophy. The institute's stellar performance across various sporting disciplines reflected the dedication and prowess of its students. Shri BG Patel College of Physiotherapy, Anand, secured the second position, further underscoring the competitive spirit prevalent throughout the tournament.
Dr. Harihara Prakash expressed immense pride in the achievements of KM Patel Institute of Physiotherapy's students, commending their exemplary sportsmanship and resilience. He extended gratitude to the university's sports committee and faculty for their unwavering support and encouragement, which played a pivotal role in nurturing the students' talents and enthusiasm.
