National Pharmacovigilance Week – 2022, was celebrated at the Pramukhswami Medical College, Bhaikaka University
National Pharmacovigilance Week – 2022, was celebrated at the Pramukhswami Medical College, Bhaikaka University, Karamsad from 17th to 23rd September 2022 under the theme of “Encouraging reporting of ADRs by patients”.
The celebration was inaugurated by Dr. Himanshu Pandya, Dean of Pramukhswami Medical College on 20th September 2022. Various theme-based competitions like Elocution Competition, Rangoli Competition, Poster Competition, and Video Competition were conducted during the week. A total of 227 participants were there in various competitions either individually or as a team. There were 9 entries in elocution, 25 entries in rangoli, 55 entries in the poster competition, and 6 entries in a video competition.
Various patient sensitization activities like pamphlet distribution, encouraging groups of patients and their relatives to report ADRs, displaying videos in the local language to make patients and their relatives understand and encourage them to report ADRs, etc. were also carried out during the week celebration. Sensitization of nursing staff and pharmacy students was also carried out during the week's celebration.
A valedictory ceremony including prize & certificate distribution was arranged on 26th September 2022 where Dr. Utpala Kharod, Provost, Bhaikaka University, and Dr. Himanshu Pandya, Dean, Pramukhswami Medical College were the chief guests.
The event was organized by the Department of Pharmacology under the leadership of Dr. Bharat Gajjar, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacology, coordinated by Dr. Alpa Gor and Dr. Nazima Mirza with the help of PG residents.
