NSS Camp at Ashi Village: A Week of Community Service
Bhaikaka University, Karamsad, organized a week-long NSS camp at Ashi village from November 20th to 26th, 2024. Over 100 enthusiastic volunteers from various constituent institutes, including nursing, physiotherapy, medical laboratory technology, and allied health sciences, actively participated.
The camp was inaugurated on November 20th by the Honorable Assistant Collector and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Shri Hiren Barot. Dignitaries such as Provost Dr. Abhay Dharamsi, Registrar Dr. Jyoti Tiwari, and Program Coordinator Dr. Sonal Chitroda, along with other program officers: Dr. Ashish Gupta, Ms. Tejal Virola, and Ms. Binita Patel, also graced the occasion.
In his inspiring address, Shri Barot emphasized the importance of rural culture and the need to challenge societal stigmas. He urged volunteers to immerse themselves in village life, providing essential medical care and making a positive impact on the community.
Dr. Dharamsi encouraged students to learn from the community experience and ensure maximum benefit for villagers through health screening camps.
The camp will feature several key highlights, including volunteers actively engaging with villagers to learn about their traditions, customs, and challenges. Health screening camps will be set up to provide essential medical services, while awareness programs on health, hygiene, and social issues will be conducted.
The success of the camp was made possible by the support of several individuals and organizations, including Sarpanch Shri Alpeshbhai Thakor, DV Patel High School Principal Shri Hiteshbhai Patel, and other local dignitaries, including Shri Harshadbhai Patel, Swaminarayan Mandir Administrator Shri Mukeshbhai Patel, Shri Ravibhai Girishbhai Patel, Smt. Lataben Maganbhai Patel, and Shri Charanbhai Rabari. Their collective efforts significantly contributed to the betterment of Ashi village.
