Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s Contributions in the Field of Healthcare

Charutar Arogya Mandal, Bhaikaka University, Karamsad, and AARSH Research Institute, Swaminarayan Akshardham, Gandhinagar jointly organized a seminar at Bhikhabhai Auditorium.
 
Under the auspices of the Brahmaswarup Pramukh Swami Maharaj Centenary Celebrations, Charutar Arogya Mandal Bhaikaka University, Karamsad in association with AARSH Research Institute, Swaminarayan Akshardham, Gandhinagar, organized a seminar on the topic ‘Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s Contributions in the Field of Healthcare’ on 18th June at the Bhikhabhai Auditorium.
 
The seminar was chaired by the Secretary of the Charutar Arogya Mandal Shri Jagrutbhai Bhatt. Following inaugural prayers and the traditional lighting of the lamp, a video highlighting Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s exemplary planning, decision-making, and foresight was displayed.
 
Shri Bhagvatcharandas Swami, Kothari, BAPS - Anand reminded the contribution of Pramukh Swami Maharaj to the establishment of Pramukhswami Medical College. Swamiji donated 1.25 crore in the year 1987 for the establishment of the medical college by considering the vision of founder chairman Dr. H M Patel.
 
Shri Jagrutbhai Bhatt, the Secretary of Charutar Arogya Mandal said that Dr. H M Patel received a donation from Gokal Parivar when he had a dream, to establish a hospital to fulfill the healthcare need of the rural community. Dr. Patel had the vision to establish a medical college, where the underprivileged can be given the chance to study medicine and realize their dreams. For that, he received a donation and blessings from Pramukhswamiji Maharaj. Today institute stands firm in its vision: to be a shining example of what the profession of medicine is supposed to be noble, deeply rooted in providing solace to the suffering and continuously upgrading itself to serve humanity.
 
In his speech, Shri Vedmanandas Swami of the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, Anand, highlighted the various BAPS healthcare activities inspired by Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
Other speakers included Dr. Bhalendu Vaishnav, Professor, and Head of the Department of Medicine of Bhaikaka University, and the Dean of the Pramukh Swami Medical College, Karamsad, Dr. Himanshubhai Pandya, also presided over the seminar.
 
The seminar was broadcast live on the University’s Website and BAPS Sanstha’s Prerna Setu mobile application.
