The seminar featured officials from the State Cyber Crime Cell of Gujarat, based in Gandhinagar, who aimed to educate attendees about the growing issue of cybercrime and the associated threats. Shri Viren Joshi, a cybercrime expert from Anand District, provided insights into best practices for online security. His presentation covered proactive steps to enhance cybersecurity both at home and in the workplace. Joshi also discussed emerging trends in security and offered practical tips to help individuals avoid cyber threats.
A key point of the seminar was Joshi’s guidance on reporting cybercrimes. He informed participants that any complaints could be lodged by dialing 1930, which facilitates prompt resolution of cyber fraud.
Mustakim Malek, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Anand District, emphasized the importance of sustained cybercrime awareness. He stated, “With the advancement of technology, cybercrime is becoming increasingly prevalent. It is crucial to generate ongoing awareness among students at Bhaikaka University to protect their computer systems, mobile devices, and networks from data leakage, theft, or damage.”
The session was also attended by Dr. Pragya Nair, Chairperson of Women Development Cell; Dr. Manish Gohel; Ms. Hetal Dave; and Shri Anand Upadhyay ,who supported the initiative and contributed to the discussion.
