Thalassemia Prevention and Screening Camp organized in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Anklav Taluka branch
On March 19, 2024, CAMIAHST and LPPIMLT, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Anklav Taluka branch, organized an event aimed at addressing the challenges posed by Thalassemia in Gujarat. The event commenced with an enlightening speech outlining the prevalence and scenario of Thalassemia in the region.
Distinguished expert lectures were a prominent feature of the event, providing students with in-depth insights into Thalassemia. Dr. Mustafa Ranpurwala, Professor of Pathology at PSMC, delivered an overview of Thalassemia, shedding light on its various aspects. Additionally, Mr. Upendra Bhoi delivered a compelling discourse on raising awareness about Thalassemia and its prevention strategies.
The primary objective of organizing this Thalassemia camp was to empower students to become active participants in the fight against this genetic disorder. By fostering community engagement and providing detailed information, the camp aimed to equip students with the necessary knowledge to contribute effectively to Thalassemia awareness and prevention.
