WDC, BU organized a workshop on “Kitchen Gardening” in collaboration with Anand Agricultural University

The Women's Development Cell of Bhaikaka University, in collaboration with Director of Extension Education, Anand Agricultural University organized a workshop on “Kitchen Gardening” on 13th September, 2023 at College of Horticulture, Anand Agricultural University. The session started with prayer and lamp lighting. Dignitaries who graced the inaugural ceremony from Anand Agricultural University were Dr. MK Jhala (Director of Research & Dean, PG Studies), Dr. HB Patel (Director of Extension Education), Dr. Smita Pillai (Deputy Director, Horticulture). From Bhaikaka University, Dr. Jyoti Mannari (Associate Dean, Academic Services), Dr.Jyoti Tiwari (Controller of Academics, Bhaikaka University) and Dr. Pragya Nair (Convener, Women's Development Cell) were present .

The experienced faculty took the lectures and shared their knowledge on the concept of various types of kitchen gardening, growing vegetables and flowers in the kitchen garden, pest and disease management in the kitchen garden. A field visit was arranged to show different methods of preparing organic manure, to see the vegetable and flower nursery. Discussions regarding medical plants and their uses was arranged with a field visit.

A separate session was taken by Mr Rajesh Patel (Yogahar Expert from Gujarat State Yog Board) on “Natural Diet System”. Dr. Manisha Gohel (Member, Women's Development Cell, Bhaikaka University ) proposed the vote of thanks. Overall, it was a very fruitful workshop with 33 participants from Bhaikaka University. Participants were quite enthusiastic and energetic throughout the day. There was very good interaction between the participants and the faculty of Anand Agricultural University.
